Ingredients
Onion, 1 kg
Olive oil, 4 tablespoons
White flour, 1 flat tablespoon
Onion soup powder, 1 heaping tablespoon
Coarse salt, 1 flat teaspoon
Black pepper, 1 flat teaspoon
Brown sugar, 1 flat teaspoon
Balsamic vinegar, 1 tablespoon
White wine, 3/4 cup
Preparation
1. Peel the onions and cut into thick slices. Separate the layers and place in a large pot.
2. Fry for about 10 minutes with the olive oil in a closed lid until the onion is translucent.
3. Add the flour and continue to fry for another 10 minutes with the lid closed, stirring occasionally.
4. Add 3 L of water, bring to a boil and add all the other ingredients.
5. When boiling, cover the pot and cook for about 30 minutes over medium heat.
6. Serve and eat hot.
