Ingredients
Green lentils, 1½ cups
Olive oil, 2 tablespoons
Carrot, 1 large unit
Potato, 1 medium unit
Sweet potato, 1 small unit
Onion, 1 medium unit
Pumpkin, 1/2 cup
Parsley, 1 handful
Dill, 5 stalks
Salt, 1 flat teaspoon
Black pepper, 1/4 flat teaspoon
Cumin, 1/2 flat teaspoon
Turmeric, 1/2 flat teaspoon
Water, as needed
Preparation
1. Soak the green lentils in water for about an hour (recommended). Early preparation: cut the carrot into circles, the potato and sweet potato into cubes, the onions into strips and the pumpkin into cubes as well.
2. Heat the olive oil in a cooking pot, add the chopped vegetables and lightly fry over medium heat.
3. Add about 3.5 cups of water and cook for about 15 minutes while stirring occasionally.
4. Add the washed, soaked and strained green lentils, parsley and dill (not chopped but whole), and add water to about 3/4 of the pot’s height (a little more is possible).
5. Season with salt, black pepper, cumin and turmeric, and cook for about 20 minutes until the lentils are soft (check occasionally).
6. Can be served this way or ground by using a blender - delicious one way or another.

The spices in the recipe are according to personal taste. The preparation method also includes frying. It can also be seasoned with chicken soup powder but it is not recommended from a health point of view.
