Tofu Shawarma

Tofu cubes with onion and tomato seasoned with turmeric, cumin and paprika - great vegan tofu shawarma for lunch!

Tofu, 300 g
Turmeric, 1 flat teaspoon
Sweet paprika, 1 flat teaspoon
Cumin, 1 flat teaspoon
Spicy paprika, 1/2 flat teaspoon
Black pepper, 1/2 flat teaspoon
coarsely ground
Garlic powder, 1 flat teaspoon
Sea salt, 1 flat teaspoon
Olive oil, 4 tablespoons
for season the tofu
Canola oil spray, 4 servings
for spraying the pan
Onion, 1 medium unit
cut into strips
Tomato, 3 medium units
ripe and chopped


1. Cut the tofu into cubes, transfer to a bowl and add all the spices and olive oil. Mix and set aside for 15 minutes.
2. Spray a non-stick pan with oil, heat and add the onion. Stir-fry 5 minutes until translucent and add the seasoned tofu cubes.
3. Fry and stir for 3 minutes, then add the chopped tomatoes.
4. Continue to fry and mix for another 6 minutes, until the tofu is browned and crispy.

For serving: in pita with tahini and pickles or with an addition of carbs.
