Pickled Okra

Okra pickles in apple cider vinegar, salt and seasoning mixture for pickles

Okra, 500 g
Hot red pepper, 8 small units
Water, 2 cups
Apple cider vinegar, 1 cup
Garlic, 4 cloves
Bay leaves, 5 leaves
Sugar, 3 flat teaspoons
Salt, 3 flat teaspoons
Whole allspice, 1 teaspoon
Four seasons pepper, 1 teaspoon
Spice for pickles, 1 heaping teaspoon


1. Wash the okra, dry and set aside.
2. Boil the water, vinegar and all the spices (including the garlic). When everything is boiling add the okra and hot peppers, mix well, turn off the heat and cover until cool.

You can add also small colorful peppers.

The nutritional value does not include the allspice, the four season pepper and the pickle seasoning. The spices in the recipe are according to personal taste. The preparation method also includes boiling.
