Vegan Poppy Seed Buns

Great yeast dough buns with ground poppy seeds

Ingredients

The Dough
White flour, 1 kg
Dry yeast, 1 tablespoon
Sugar, 1 flat tablespoon
Salt, 1 flat tablespoon
Water, 1½ cups
lukewarm
Canola oil, 1/3 cup
Poppy Coating
Poppy seeds, 50 g
freshly ground

Preparation

1. Mix the flour with the yeast and sugar, add the oil and salt, mix and add the water gradually. Knead until smooth and soft, and let rise for about an hour.
2. Knead again and let rest for another 20 minutes.
3. Divide the dough into 12 balls, drizzle them inside the poppy seeds and arrange them on baking paper in the oven tray.
4. Using scissors or a sharp knife, make incisions on each bun, let rise for another 20 minutes and bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 25 minutes or until golden.
