Cooked White Rice

Ingredients

Basmati rice, 2 cups
Canola oil, 6 tablespoons
Water, 4 cups
boiled
Salt, 1½ flat teaspoons
to taste

Preparation

1. Wash the rice well with water, strain and dry.
2. Heat the oil in a deep pot, add the rice, fry a little while stirring so that the oil coats all the rice.
3. Add the boiled water, bring to a boil, add the salt and mix. Cover the pot with a lid and cook on a very low heat for about 20-30 minutes.
4. Remove the lid and mix gently (important) using a fork to separate the grains and form a “one by one rice”.
5. Cover the lid again and wait about 15 minutes (a clean towel can be placed on the pot and the lid should be placed on it).

The preparation method also includes frying. The ratio of rice to water is 1:2.
