Quinoa with Black Lentil

Quinoa stew with black lentil and chopped onion - easy, tasty and very nutritious

Quinoa, 1½ cups
Black lentil, 1 cup
soaked in hot water for about 1 hour
Water, 2 cups
hot (to soak the lentils)
Onion, 1 medium unit
finely chopped
Canola oil, 1/4 cup
for frying onions
Salt, 1/2 flat teaspoon
Black pepper, 1/4 flat teaspoon
Turmeric, 1/4 flat teaspoon
Water, 3 cups
hot (for cooking)


1. Soak the black lentils in the hot water for about 1 hour.
2. Fry the onion in oil for a few minutes, add the black lentils, quinoa and spices and mix well.
3. Add the boiling water, mix, bring to a boil, lower the heat and cook for about 20 minutes or until cooked.

The preparation method also includes soaking and frying. The spices in the recipe are according to personal taste.
